Guided hike or on your own?

A guided hike takes care of the transport to the start and back, and adds someone who knows the trail, the side paths and the best viewpoints.

When a guided tour is worth it

  • You’re staying in Sorrento or Naples. Getting to Bomerano by public transport takes hours each way. A tour with a transfer turns the hike into an easy half or full day.
  • You want the stories. Guides point out the old farming terraces, the caves and the plants along the way.
  • You’re nervous about the exposed sections or walking with children.
  • It’s your first mountain walk abroad, and you’d rather not worry about buses and timetables.

Common questions

Do guided tours walk the same route?

Most follow the classic Bomerano to Nocelle line, but some start in Positano, loop back to Agerola or add food stops. Read the itinerary on the listing to see exactly where you start and finish.

What if it rains?

The path gets slippery when wet, so it may be better to reschedule or cancel.
